I read your comments related to CallistoHime and I totally agree with you.
I am a Fire Emblem fan too and I don't really feel happy with the things she does with the characters in her fics.
I support the fans who are trying to do something about it.
I don't know what else there's left to do with her. She's a defensive lady and I've lost enough HP trying to get her to understand, but, maybe if we gather.

If it's in regards to c.h.'s work, it's because some people have spent a lot of time building or piecing together from the original work, and she sort of smacks the credibility of the genre all down. I want to respect her work but I can't. Perhaps it's not right, but as a writer I treat fictional characters a little like real people, and so it matters when the connection is made and then they're misrepresented. Call it a duty, obsession, or passion, but I care about them. If they're going to be taken seriously, they should be taken seriously and the author willing to devote time and thought to theories and canon-facts so they can deal with criticism appropriately.

I don't have a problem with HnK, or many other people with ssbm fan-work, because I can understand that people might play the game and build the characters for who they are from there. SSBM is a fighter, and follows other fighters in that there's very little to glean from for their character backgrounds. People are really free to make them play as they want.
But does Marth from ssbm know Jeigan? Does Roy from ssbm have a father named Eliwood and a mother named Ninian?
The characters have suddenly shifted from their Smash Bros. versions, which are very flexible castes that are pretty acceptable to anyone, to the Fire Emblem ones (because of the ties to 'Fire Emblem only' content), and it does force more credibility to be desired.
It's not the credibility of c.h.'s characters in her story when viewed stand-alone. But she's (intended or not) made a comparison game between the FE characters and hers (since she tied her ideas to those of the franchise) This is inevitable if you know both stories and have any conflicting ideas at all. Many people can understand a few creative freedoms in order to improve the story, but she has done a 'butchery', bluntly put.
I can't say this reliably, but I don't believe any of her readers are that knowledgeable of the particular Fire Emblems c.h. works with. If this isn't true, I would <3 playing quiz-time with them and hearing what they have to say.
Lastly and probably the only point for me, is that she doesn't try to understand why Fire Emblem fans would attack her but just goes into uber-defense mode because we just criticized her work. I know that saying 'your character isn't believable' is very hurtful, but in choosing to connect her original characters to pre-existing content within the franchise, she has to, as an author, bring herself up to either confronting people who like it straight or be willing to maturely take the hits and believe in her own work strongly enough.
I asked her once to just phase her characters into an o.c. world. I don't think you guys as her readers would mind if she changed their names or started using completely new characters, and that is what I thought would've been the solution to make the most happy. For whatever reason she berserked on the idea, so I dunno, continue the drama every time a FE fan encounters her story I guess.

4.) readers console/join regardless of original cause
5.) c.h.'s action is reinforced

i think it does make a huge difference what their names are and if its oc or not, because her inspiration comes from going beeyond ssbm to look at fe canon stuff, even if its just inspiriation and not exactly copying. its desined for people like her who love ssbm then look at fe, so maybe some fe people have problems with it all, but isnt it her story? harry potter never stopped anyone from liking other wizard/school stories...
and how can anyone write something true to themselves if theyre told to just change the names of characters and say its the same? cause its not, it changes everything. its way too much tied to the fe background even if its not the orginal fe.
lotsa fe fans compare, but she only freaks out when they tell her her stuffs wrong and she should change it because it doesnt match what they think it should be...and dint she say shes really sick? i think her freaking out being upset that someone would hate her stuff is alot more mature than freaking out spreading anger and hate about a story that helps peoples lives, whether its what you want to read or not.
why is it that only your opinions valid and not other readers opinions? why is it "regardless of orginal cause"? dont other people have brains, too? im a fe fan. you sound as if the only people who's opinions matter to you are people who agre with you... and its not your job to quiz people either, would you say theyre not valid fe fans if they get a question of your swrong or arent as obsessed as you?
of course its intended, thats the point. i saw the convo you had with her n wish and they told you how its supposed to be au, crossover and like xmen or loz...didnt you say then that you understand? and then you come back and ignore everything you siad and heard whent hey talked to you then.
it realy sounds like your boiling everything down to make calissto sound more imature than she is and make it sound like youre being really mature, but if thats true whyd you have to rub everything in her face when she said sorry and was sad and everything.
she definitely believes in her own work strong enough for sure, cause shes kept going and didnt make a big deal about lady lindis's mean deviation, din she? i guess cause it sounds like she had one freakout at you that means youll always be bitter and annoyed, cause shes writing a story that brings a good spirit to people and helps them with themselves and your lives.
when people are brought to god, and have been guyded into looking at themselves and making their choices better, and have been able to deal with things like getting raped before because they had Manasas story to relate to which did it better than any other story, and when people can learn and grow and become better people cause of a story, does it really really really matter wether or not the story matches cannon as long as its true to itself? and brings a good spirit and helps people become better. likeat least ten people said after elice and roy had that one chatper where she gets burned, like abunch of people talked a lot in the comments, and talked with each other in chat and stuff, and decided that it was time to think about it and then decided to wait to get married before having sex. id unno what your opinin is about that but giving people a chance to think about it and make ther own choice before facing it in real life can only be a good thing, imo.
you want it to be true to the canon instead of true to the author...well changing it to oc wouldnt be true to the author either, and i guess thats the choice shes made from the begining and i support that, and it makes me sad that someone can get so angry about something nintendo doesnt give a crud about, just because it doesnt match nintendos original games story. nintendo doesnt care. you dont have to. but tearing down something good and then blaming a person with stress disorders and chrocnic illness for not being as mature as humanly posible - well who would be, especially with stress disorders?
i guess im just saying, its sad she hapened to snap at you but thats not a reason to tear down a good erson and a good story, wether you like them or not. tce departed from fe canon from the very begining...why its only coming up 60 chapters into the sequel i have no idea, eccept that maybe more familiar fe names are coming up that are less connected to ther orignal fe meanings?
but seeing you read lady lyndis's thing and then say it was well writen and right just makes me have a hard time thinking you like...even understand ata and all the cahracter depth in it. wether ata's canon or not, its DEFINITELY not what that girl was saying at all and tht was just rude and mean, but also wrong and incorrect about ata...if someones gonna argue about getting facts right then they should get facts right, and that includes you too for supporting something that was full of yucky hateful feelings, but also full of all sorts of misinformation, that, well i thought you were a reader, if you were youd know right off the bat it was totally incorrect. not opinion stuff, just FACT stuff about ata.
anyway i dont think im gonna convince you but it just sucks that someone cares so much more about a fact that nintendo doesnt give a crap about, than they care about a person or people that this kind of fight seeking and mean spiritedness would hurt.
